We aim to over deliver in all of our transactions! We have a can-do attitude towards listing homes, and work to make sure we get the most for our clients in every situation. Sometimes, this means we have to get creative and be more hands on.

We recently sold a single family, ranch-style home on the East side of Anchorage. The large family that was living there had outgrown the house, and we successfully helped them find and close on a larger home that better suited their needs.

When I say the house was too small for them, I mean it was WAY too small. They had a large family of girls living in a small three bedroom, one bathroom house. I grew up with four sisters, so I knew exactly what the father of this family was going through -- we laughed about it from time to time during this process.

Their house had been on the market previously for about a year. The biggest hurdle we got was that potential buyers couldn't get a good idea of the size of the house or picture themselves living there because it was too crammed with people and their belongings.

As mentioned earlier -- you have to get creative sometimes! The family let me know that they were taking off for a long weekend, and I took the opportunity to do just that. I got permission from the father of the family before they left, and I made a plan for when they were gone.

I rented a U-Haul box truck, and loaded up everything we could find in the house. (They had already packed up a lot of their belongings to prepare for their move). After getting everything out of the house, we took new pictures, and hosted an open house for that entire weekend. We had tons of people attend, and received a lot of great feedback! One person that attended wanted to write an offer right then and there! This buyer didn't have everything they needed with them, so we set a time to meet at the office to get it taken care of.

The offer was accepted, and everything else in the transaction went smoothly. I was even able to find a new home for sellers at the same time, and we closed on both homes the same day. This is just one example of how thinking out of the box and taking the extra effort can make all the difference!
