Taking the right photos is one of the biggest influencers in marketing a home. Home searchers often use the internet to research homes and high quality pictures that are bright, clear, stand apart from the crowd. This can go a long way in selling your home quickly and can even get you a better deal! We take great pride in having excellent photography and want to put the best foot forward on your home! Here’s what to expect when the time comes:

Have your home ready to shoot

If you’re not a photographer, or familiar with staging a home, sometimes it’s easy to look over the small stuff - the mop in the corner, the plethora of items you like on the bathroom sink for convenience, the used towels in the bathroom, or the assortment of kitchen appliances you keep within arms reach. These often have the ability to distract from the main subject -- your home! If you’re unsure if something needs to be put away, ask yourself “would this look good in a photo?” (Hint: we don’t typically take photos of smaller closets, use them!)

What to expect?

Depending on the size of your home or the amount of staging required, you can expect to have 2-3 people on site to help with the photography process. This is typically one photographer and or two people from our team to facilitate the photos. This can typically take 1-2 hours depending on how fast we are able to work. (Again, this is contingent on the size of your home and how “ready” it is.) Whether you want to be home for this process is entirely up to you.

What happens if I’m not ready?

We all get busy and put the cleaning off at the last minute. Although we don't recommend it, we know it’s a reality of getting busy. The short answer; if you aren’t able to spruce it up, we will. It’s our job to make your home SHINE, we would be doing you a disservice if we didn’t touch a thing.

Who moved my cheese? (We did!)

Everyone who lives on the property needs to know this is happening -- your spouse, your son, your tenants, etc. No one likes their personal items moved by strangers. Get everyone on the same page about what needs to happen so we don’t have any surprises. We would greatly appreciate it!

Check List:

Is your home photo ready?

  • Slim down the items you have visible.

  • Expect the photo process to take 1-2 hours on the day of the shoot.

  • There may be some rearranging on the day of -- don’t be alarmed, it’s just part of the process.

  • Let everyone know what to expect from the photo process. (Tenants, family, etc)
